A research consortium led by Leibniz Universität Hannover will develop new quantum-based methods to determine gravity field variations from space and on earth with unprecedented accuracy in the Collaborative Research Centre (CRC) TerraQ. The German Research Foundation (DFG) is initially funding the project until 2024 with around 9.6 million euros. In the CRC, around 60 scientists from the fields of geodesy and physics will develop fundamentally new measuring techniques, sensors and analytical methods to significantly improve gravimetric earth observation and make an essential contribution to climate research.
