Christiane Koch - Quantum control: Steering the Quantum Revolution
The success of the quantum revolution critically hinges on the capability
to precisely control quantum systems. To transform quantum non-locality
and coherence from theoretical curiosities into technological assets
requires overcoming the hurdles of environmental decoherence and hardware
scalability. Quantum control theory provides the essential toolkits for
this mission --- controllability analysis, defining the boundaries of what
is possible, and optimized pulse design, deriving high-fidelity protocols
to realize those goals. After a short introduction to the basic
principles, I will present our recent results demonstrating how control
theory enables the optimization of experimental quantum platforms and the
discovery of novel phenomena in many-body systems.
